Job summary

Zego is seeking an Analytics Engineer to join the Data team in the UK, helping translate business questions into robust data solutions using AI-assisted workflows. You'll design data models, ship trustworthy SQL, and collaborate with senior engineers to raise our analytics depth.

You'll work with dbt, Snowflake, Looker and modern data platforms, own data quality and observability, and enable self-service BI for the business.

Qualifications

• Around 1–3 years' experience as an Analytics Engineer or similar role.
• Solid SQL skills — comfortable reading, writing, debugging queries (including AI-generated).
• Familiar with modern data platforms (Snowflake, dbt, AWS, GCP, Looker).
• Experience with version control tools such as Git.
• Some exposure to Python for data tasks is a plus.
• Genuine excitement for AI and willingness to stay ahead with AI in workflows.

Responsibilities

• Data Modelling & Engineering (AI-assisted): understand business needs and translate into clear requirements.
• Build and maintain data models with dbt, Snowflake and Looker using AI-assisted development.
• Read, debug, and review SQL (including AI-generated code) to ship trusted models.
• Document modelling decisions, trade-offs, and outcomes.
• Wrangle and integrate data from multiple third-party sources (Amplitude, Segment, Google Ads).
• Data Quality, Trust & Operations: build trust infrastructure — tests, data contracts, observability.
• Ensure quality and stability across data models and pipelines; create secure data shares for external partners.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of data platform and AI workstreams.
• Stakeholder Enablement: support business users to promote data-driven decisions.
• Help translate business questions into well-designed data solutions and metrics.
