Job summary

Zego is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to be a key contributor in building and evolving our data platform for rapid growth. This hands-on role focuses on scalable, secure data systems and collaboration with Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, and Product.

You’ll promote best practices, design data pipelines, and help shape our data architecture while sharing knowledge with peers and supporting less experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• 4+ years as a Data Engineer
• Experience designing and operating ETL/ELT pipelines
• Experience with modern data stacks (Python, SQL, Snowflake, Airflow)
• Ability to translate technical concepts to business value
• Experience reviewing code and sharing knowledge
• AI-first mindset and proactive ownership

Responsibilities

• Act as a strong technical contributor within the Data Engineering team.
• Support and mentor less experienced engineers through pairing and code reviews.
• Promote best practices in data engineering (testing, CI/CD, observability, IaC).
• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, warehouses, and streaming systems.
• Ensure data models meet analytics, data science, and operational needs.
• Contribute to evolution of data architecture to support current and future needs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate requirements into robust solutions.
• Identify opportunities for optimization, re-architecture or tool improvements.
• Contribute to the delivery of the data engineering roadmap.
