Job summary

Intertek is seeking a highly experienced Coating Inspector to lead surface preparation, coating application, inspection, and QA activities for protective coating systems in oil & gas and naval projects.

The role requires certification (AMPP/NACE or Frosio Level 2), extensive field experience, and strong knowledge of SSPC/AMPP, NACE, ISO, and ASTM standards. You will ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements while delivering thorough documentation.

Qualifications

Certified coating inspector with AMPP/NACE or Frosio Level 2.
10+ years oil & gas experience; naval project exposure.
Knowledge of SSPC/AMPP, NACE, ISO, ASTM standards.
Coating inspection certification preferred; NACE or NS/476/Frosio Level 2.
MS Office proficiency; welding and NDT familiarity.
Safety minded with PPE, permits, and hazardous materials handling.

Responsibilities

Inspect surfaces prior to preparation and coating.
Supervise surface preparation: abrasive blasting, power/tool cleaning, hand cleaning and chemical cleaning.
Apply coatings and achieve specified dry film thickness (DFT).
Conduct inspections before, during, and after coating activities.
Record WFT, DFT, ambient conditions, adhesion tests, NCRs as needed.
Submit final coating documentation and turnover packages.
