Job summary

Morson Group is seeking a skilled Coatings Inspector to oversee surface preparation, coating application and corrosion protection on major shipbuilding projects. The role requires hands-on inspection and coordination with shipyards, coating suppliers and client teams.

The ideal candidate holds ICorr or NACE/AMPP Level 1 or 2, is capable of reviewing ITPs, monitoring environmental conditions and ensuring compliance with project standards, with UK SC clearance and national eligibility.

Qualifications

• ICorr or NACE/AMPP Level 1 or 2 coating inspector qualification.
• Security Clearance (SC) and UK national status required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect abrasive blasting, surface prep and coating to project specs.
• Review ITPs to confirm inspection stages and acceptance criteria.
• Monitor environmental conditions, cleanliness, profile and thickness.
• Identify coating defects and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Maintain inspection reports and quality documentation.
• Coordinate coating activities as on-site focal point.
