Site Welding & Coating Inspector — QC Specialist

Job summary

NES Global Talent (NES Fircroft) is actively seeking a Welding & Coating Inspector to monitor and sign off on welding, fabrication and coating activities on site, ensuring alignment with project quality plans and procedures.

The role requires experience in welding/paint inspection, knowledge of ISO 9001, and familiarity with ITPs, MRBs, and NCRs. It offers site-based duties and close collaboration with QMIP and Work Package Managers.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
• Experience reviewing ITPs, inspection records and MRB.
• Auditing and inspection experience.
• Contractor/subcontractor surveillance experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as client representative for Welding, Fabrication and Coating activities at site, including sign-off of documentation as determined in the Project Quality Plan.
• Represent client for inspection points as per the Project Quality Plan and applicable Master ITPs.
• Ensure all required participants for Hold / Witness / Review points are present during these points and signoff documentation as necessary.
• In coordination with the relevant Work Package Manager / QMIP, raise NCRs as necessary.
• Ensure tasks are carried out in accordance with approved procedures, standards, and any applicable ERs.
• Review welders’ qualification, NDE Qualifications and painters’ qualifications as required.
• Attend weekly site project quality meeting.
• Carry out material surveillance checks to ensure materials used comply with project specifications and material identification and traceability is in line with approved procedures.
• Attend any weld procedure qualifications, NDT and preproduction tests.
• Ensure ICRs, Reports and/or MC paperwork is completed in full and on time in line with project requirements throughout the fabrication and coating phase of the project.
• Review the MRB on an ongoing basis through project as presented by the contractor.
• Completion of Weekly QC Reports as required by Quality Plan / WPM.
• Provide the project team with specialist advice and expertise.
• Review documentation to ensure compliance with approved procedures, standards, and any applicable ERs.
• Ensuring quality gates are adhered to. Other requirements directed by QMIP
