Job summary

McDermott is seeking a Senior Quality Inspector to lead coating and painting QC activities, ensure compliance with customer specs and project requirements, and mentor junior inspectors on site. The role requires deep knowledge of surface preparation and protective coatings within oil & gas projects.

The incumbent will review ITPs, manage non-conformities, and liaise with engineers, clients, and authorities to ensure quality plans and standards are met throughout project execution.

Qualifications

• Senior high school graduate or technical/engineering degree.
• 10+ years in Quality Control inspection, with coating/painting in oil & gas or offshore.
• Strong knowledge of NACE/AMPP, SSPC, ISO 12944 and client specs.
• Relevant coating inspection certifications preferred.
• Proficient in inspection equipment and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead coating and painting Quality Control activities to verify product conformity with customer specifications and project requirements.
• Review, implement, and enforce Inspection and Test Plans for coating and painting activities including surface preparation and curing.
• Identify, document, and manage coating non-conformities, ensuring effective corrective actions and final resolution prior to product acceptance.
• Direct, supervise, and actively participate in coating inspections, ensuring compliance with approved procedures and specifications.
• Consult with the Project Quality Manager on prevention strategies, inspection resources, and effectiveness of quality plans.
• Initiate and support evaluation of non-conforming coating work, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
