Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Process Engineer to provide technical leadership across clean water projects, from concept to implementation. You will lead process design, calculations and specifications, support resource projects and asset optimisation, and mentor engineers within a multidisciplinary team across the UK.

You'll collaborate with global teams, engage clients confidently, and shape solutions that improve water security and resilience in the face of climate pressures.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical or Process engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in clean water or wastewater process engineering.
• Experience with process calculations, mass balances, hydraulic assessments.
• Ability to lead across multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong understanding of UK water industry standards and best practice.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience mentoring engineers and developing technical capability.
• Interest in digital innovation and sustainable water solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of clean water process engineering solutions across projects.
• Develop and review process designs, calculations, mass balances and technical specifications.
• Provide technical leadership ensuring robust, practical solutions for clients.
• Support strategic water resource projects and long-term resilience schemes.
• Optimise existing assets through investigations, testing and performance assessments.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Build client relationships and contribute to bids and frameworks.
• Mentor engineers and share knowledge across the team.
