Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Process Engineer to lead clean water process design across UK projects, from new treatment facilities to asset optimisation. You will mentor engineers and collaborate with civil, mechanical and environmental teams to deliver robust, practical solutions that meet client needs.

You’ll work within our national water team, contributing to bids, framework opportunities and long-term water security strategies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical or Process engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in clean water or wastewater process engineering.
• Strong technical experience across clean water treatment processes.
• Experience developing and reviewing process calculations, mass balances and hydraulic assessments.
• Proven ability to lead across multidisciplinary projects.
• Understanding of UK water industry challenges and standards.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; mentoring capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of clean water process engineering solutions across treatment and water resource projects.
• Develop and review process designs, calculations, mass balances, hydraulic assessments and technical specifications.
• Provide technical leadership on projects ensuring robust, practical and sustainable solutions.
• Support strategic water resource projects including water transfer, storage and long-term resilience.
• Contribute to optimisation of existing assets through investigations and pilot testing.
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical, environmental and hydraulic specialists.
• Build client relationships and contribute to bids, frameworks and programmes.
• Mentor engineers and develop technical capability within the team.
