Job summary

Stantec Inc. is seeking a Principal Process Engineer in the UK with a focus on clean water projects. You will lead cross-disciplinary teams to design, evaluate and optimise water treatment solutions, while mentoring engineers and shaping strategic resource plans.

You will collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver robust, sustainable outcomes across the UK water sector, including resilience and PFAS considerations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical or Process or related discipline.
• Significant clean water or wastewater process engineering experience.
• Strong technical experience in process design and optimisation.
• Experience developing and reviewing calculations, mass balances, hydraulic assessments.
• Proven ability to provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong understanding of UK water industry challenges and best practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of clean water process engineering solutions across treatment and infrastructure projects.
• Develop and review process designs, calculations, mass balances, hydraulic assessments and specs.
• Provide technical leadership on projects ensuring robust, practical solutions.
• Support strategic water resource projects including transfer, storage, recycling and resilience.
• Contribute to optimisation of assets through investigations and testing.
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical, environmental and hydraulic specialists.
• Build client relationships and contribute to bids and frameworks.
• Mentor and support engineers within the team and share best practices.
• Collaborate with global teams to apply knowledge to UK challenges.
