Job summary

Blue Recruitment Personnel is seeking a Lead Civil Engineer in Dartford to lead a small team across drainage, highways and infrastructure projects. The role blends design work with on-site support in a senior capacity, supported by a flexible hybrid working arrangement.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years’ civil engineering experience, strong client communication, and is Chartered or pursuing Chartership, with a degree in Civil Engineering.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years’ civil engineering experience.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills.
• Chartered status or clear ambition to achieve Chartership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a small team of civil technicians and engineers.
• Deliver drainage, highways, and infrastructure design across varied projects.
• Prepare and review drainage strategies, FRA work, and SuDS solutions.
• Use MicroDrainage and Civil 3D for design, delivery and coordination.
• Attend client meetings, represent the business professionally, and maintain relationships.
• Check outputs for quality and compliance.
• Balance office design work with site visits and project support.
• Monitor deadlines and budgets while maintaining service quality.
• Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, suppliers and third parties.
• Support Chartered development if not already Chartered.
