About M Group Rail and Aviation

M Group Transport (Aviation) is seeking a talented Lead CAD Technician to join our Survey team. This role primarily supports our Aviation, Defence, and Adjacent Markets sectors, covering projects across the Southeast and Midlands.

The Survey team provides technical services to various construction-related disciplines, supporting our divisional teams during the design and construction phases of projects.

This position is based at our Heathrow Office and is suitable for existing Lead CAD Technicians or experienced CAD operators looking to advance their careers.

What Will You Be Doing?

• Supporting the CAD Manager with technical expertise.
• Assisting the CAD team in creating drawings for civil and infrastructure projects.
• Providing high-standard CAD drawings, models, documents, and reports to MGroup and its clients.
• Ensuring workflow efficiency and adherence to standard CAD processes, especially among junior team members.

What You’ll Bring

• Expertise in Autodesk Suite, including 3D Modelling.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and translate them into CAD.
• Efficiency in managing multiple projects.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork abilities.
• Good data management and quality control skills.
• Experience in preparing survey reports with conclusions and recommendations.
• Willingness to share knowledge and mentor team members.
• A desire for self-development and continuous improvement.
• A full UK driving license.
• At least 5 years of traceable employment history.

Desirable Skills:

• Understanding of PAS128 standards and industry practices.
• Experience analyzing GPR data and using post-processing software.
• Experience processing Point Cloud data.
• Knowledge of BIM practices.
• Experience in utilities, engineering, or aviation sectors.
