Job summary

OSB Group is seeking a Lead Engineer - Backend to provide hands-on technical leadership across multiple Savings squads. You will ensure architectural consistency, code quality and security across full-stack platforms including backend services and Salesforce components.

Based from Wolverhampton, Chatham or London with occasional travel between locations, you will mentor engineers, drive engineering excellence and collaborate with Product Owners, Cloud Architects and Delivery Leads to deliver

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience building enterprise Java applications and backend systems.
• Experience designing microservices and RESTful APIs with Spring Boot.
• Proven track record in Agile and DevOps environments with CI/CD and automated tests.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership across Savings squads.
• Drive scalable, secure software across full-stack and Salesforce platforms.
• Promote engineering best practices: TDD, automated testing, CI/CD.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and Delivery Leads in the UK and India.
• Mentor engineers and build long-term technical capability.
