We're looking for a Lead Engineer - Backend to provide hands-on technical leadership across multiple Savings squads. You'll ensure consistency in architecture, code quality and security across our full-stack platforms, including backend services and Salesforce components. The role reports into the Principal Engineer and will partner closely with Product Owners, Cloud Architects and Delivery Leads to ensure solutions are robust, scalable and ready for regulatory and customer-facing releases. The role can be based from our Wolverhampton, Chatham or London office and will require occasional travel between all OSB Group locations.
The Lead Engineer - Backend will provide hands-on engineering leadership across squads, ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable and high-quality technology solutions. Acting as the technical authority across full-stack and Salesforce platforms, the role will drive engineering excellence, solution integrity and consistent delivery standards across both change and run activities. Working closely with Product Owners, Architects, Delivery Leads and engineering teams across the UK and India, the Lead Engineer will serve as the key technical bridge between locations, enabling effective collaboration within a distributed Agile environment. The role will also play a critical part in mentoring and developing engineering talent, helping to establish long‑term technical capability and supporting the successful delivery of customer and regulatory commitments.

We offer a base salary depending on experience ranging from £65,000 - £75,000 per annum and a competitive benefits package including:
