Job summary

UBDS Group is seeking a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to own and advance secure cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and automation for complex client projects in the UK. You will guide other engineers, set engineering standards and collaborate with architects, security specialists and client teams to deliver resilient, scalable solutions.

The role combines hands‑on technical delivery with leadership, client engagement and shaping best practices across delivery teams.

Qualifications

• Significant hands‑on experience designing, building and operating AWS solutions.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines with GitLab or GitHub.
• Expertise with Terraform and infrastructure‑as‑code at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, build and evolution of secure AWS cloud infrastructure and DevOps capabilities.
• Design and maintain scalable, secure and automated CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or GitHub.
• Own infrastructure‑as‑code approaches using Terraform, ensuring environments are repeatable and compliant.
• Define and promote engineering standards, patterns and best practices across delivery teams.
• Embed automation across build, test, deployment and operational workflows.
• Apply DevSecOps and security‑by‑design principles throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Design, deploy and operate containerised workloads using Kubernetes and AWS ECS/EKS.
• Mentor and support engineers, driving knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
