Job summary

UBDS Group is seeking a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to lead cloud infrastructure design, automation and delivery for client engagements. The role combines hands-on AWS expertise with technical ownership, mentoring, and strategic input into engineering practices.

You will guide engineers, define standards, and collaborate with architects and security specialists to deliver secure, scalable and repeatable cloud solutions.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on AWS design, build and operation experience.
• Strong knowledge of AWS compute, networking, identity, security and container services.
• Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines with GitLab or GitHub.
• Expertise with Terraform at scale.
• Kubernetes architecture and container workloads in cloud.
• DevSecOps understanding and security-by-design principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, build and evolution of secure AWS cloud infrastructure and DevOps capabilities.
• Design and maintain scalable, secure and automated CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or GitHub.
• Own infrastructure-as-code approaches using Terraform, ensuring repeatable environments.
• Define and promote engineering standards and practices across delivery teams.
• Embed automation across build, test, deployment and operational workflows.
• Apply DevSecOps and security-by-design principles throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Design, deploy and operate containerised workloads using Kubernetes and AWS services such as ECS and EKS.
• Work with architects and security specialists on cloud architecture, networking, identity, security and integration requirements.
• Implement monitoring, observability, logging and alerting to support resilient services.
• Provide technical leadership during complex troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure and deployment issues.
• Engage with clients to understand requirements, explain technical decisions and provide recommendations.
• Mentor and support engineers, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering practices, automation, reliability and delivery efficiency.
