Job summary

Wates Group in the West Region (Manchester or Birmingham) seeks a Bid Manager specialising in 2nd stage delivery to convert PCSA opportunities into contract awards. You will coordinate design development, commercial strategy and pre-construction activities to shape high-quality, buildable solutions.

You will lead cross-functional teams, manage risk, and strengthen client relationships with MOJ and other clients, ensuring a smooth handover into delivery teams to set projects up for success.

Qualifications

• Proven bid management experience in a Tier One or Tier Two contractor
• Strong understanding of 2nd stage/PCSA delivery and pre-construction processes
• Ability to build credible, long-term client relationships and influence outcomes
• Confident leading cross-functional teams and managing stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Lead the 2nd stage / PCSA process from preferred bidder to contract award
• Develop and deliver a conversion strategy aligned to client objectives and targets
• Collaborate with Design, Commercial and Operations to ensure coordinated, buildable, commercially viable solutions
• Build and maintain strong client, consultant and stakeholder relationships to support contract conversion
• Manage risk, value engineering and design development through pre-construction
• Lead governance with approvals, cost plans and programmes
• Oversee a seamless handover into delivery teams for project success
