SBC subject tutors are at the heart of what we do, delivering high‑quality, inclusive lessons in a multicultural setting. They help students become more confident, and equip them with 21st‑century communication skills. Tutors promote a culture of respect and understanding, encourage students to love learning through fun and engaging lessons, and play a huge role in enriching the students’ experience, making their time with us truly unforgettable.
The Faculty of Law Programme at Oxford College is a two‑week course introducing students to the principles and practice of law. Tutors guide learners through constitutional, criminal and international law, using case studies, debates and moot courts to explore justice, governance and human rights. Practical exercises, including simulated hearings and negotiations, develop public speaking, legal reasoning and advocacy skills.
Collaboration is central. Students work in teams on projects and discussions that mirror professional practice, building knowledge, confidence and critical thinking and providing a strong foundation for future study or careers in law, policy or research.
SBC Oxford College students undertake academic courses, exploring their chosen subject through a series of engaging lectures, tutorials and industry workshops. Their academic programme sits next to their social programme, allowing them to explore Oxford, take part in college events, wellbeing activities and the greatly enjoyed excursion to London.
