Qualifications

Masstemps is currently recruiting for an experienced Laser Setter/Operator to join a well-established and busy manufacturing company based near the Wednesbury area.

THE ROLE

• Prepare and set up laser cutting machines (flatbed or tube) according to job specifications and blueprints.
• Load required programs and parameters into laser control systems
• Select correct tooling, fixtures, clamps, and materials for each job.
• Monitor machine functions during production to maintain operational efficiency and accuracy.

ABOUT YOU

• Previous experience setting and operating tube laser cutting machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of quality control procedures and inspection standards.
• Competent in carrying out routine machine maintenance and basic fault identification.
• Good attention to detail with the ability to produce work to tight tolerances.
• Experience using measuring equipment such as verniers, calipers, and tape measures.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
