Job summary

Ashby Finance in Leamington Spa is recruiting a Laser Operator to join a small team on a permanent basis. You will operate laser cutting machines, interpret CAD drawings, perform precision measurements, and maintain equipment to ensure production targets are met.

The role requires accuracy, reliability, and the ability to plan and prioritise in a fast-paced environment. Shift pattern includes early and late shifts with a weekly rotation, and a shift allowance where applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience with laser cutting machines and machine operation.
• Ability to interpret CAD drawings and use measuring tools.
• Attention to detail and reliability are essential.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate and run the Laser machines to produce components.
• Manufacture components to a high standard and interpret CAD/engineering drawings.
• Use Vernier calipers and micrometers for measurements.
• Maintain and service machinery; perform daily TMP checks and replace parts.
• Work with stainless steel and aluminium; clean and prepare finished parts for production.
• Complete quality control checks and documentation.
• Meet tight deadlines and targets.

Location: Leamington Spa

Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week.

Rotating weekly shifts

Shifts 6.00 am - 2.30 pm and Friday and 2.30 pm - 11 pm and Friday

Salary £34, 881.51 per annum + shift allowance (where applicable)

A well-established manufacturing company that specialises in heavy-duty vehicles are looking to recruit a Laser Operator to join their small team based in Leamington Spa on a permanent basis.

The Laser Operator Role

• Operating and running the Laser machines
• Manufacturing components to a high standard
• Ability to interpret and work with CAD/engineering drawings
• Using engineering measuring equipment such as Vernier’s, callipers, or Micrometres
• Maintaining machinery by cleaning it, making sure it is in working order and checking and ordering materials needed.
• Working with multiple types of metal, including stainless steel and aluminium
• Removing and cleaning finished parts ready for Production.
• Daily TMP checks and general maintenance of Laser machines, replacing specific parts, nozzles, lenses etc.
• Completing your own quality control checks
• Completion of documentation
• Keeping to tight deadlines and targets

The ideal Laser Operator

• Experience with either Amada, Bystronic or Trumpf machines would be beneficial.
• Machine operating experience
• Previous experience operating laser cutting machines, setting would be an advantage
• Excellent communication skills
• Has the ability to prioritise work and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to plan and work from own initiative, with minimum supervision
