Jobsworth Recruitment are seeking an experienced Laser Setter Operator to join a well-established engineering company in Dudley. The role involves setting and operating laser cutting machinery, reading engineering drawings, and maintaining quality and efficiency on the shop floor.

The position offers a temp to perm arrangement with alternating weekly shifts, including mornings and afternoons, and potential overtime. A forklift licence is preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experience setting laser cutting machinery.
• Experience operating flatbed laser machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Manufacturing, engineering or sheet metal background.
• Good attention to detail and a quality-focused approach.
• Reliable attitude and strong work ethic.
• A valid in-date Counterbalance Forklift licence would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate flatbed laser cutting machines.
• Load and unload sheet metal as required.
• Sort finished components for dispatch.
• Carry out quality inspections on parts.
• Read and work from engineering drawings.
• Perform routine machine checks and basic maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace.
• Work to production targets while following health and safety procedures.

Laser Setter Operator

Location: Dudley
Pay: £14.00 per hour (Morning Shift) | £14.50 per hour (Afternoon Shift)

Jobsworth Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Laser Setter Operator to join a well-established engineering company in Dudley.

Shift Pattern

Alternating Weekly Shifts

Week 1 - Morning Shift

• Monday to Friday
• 6:00am - 2:30pm

Week 2 - Afternoon Shift

• Monday to Thursday: 2:00pm - 11:30pm
• Friday: 2:00pm - 6:00pm

The Role

As a Laser Setter Operator, you'll be responsible for setting and operating laser cutting machinery, ensuring production runs efficiently while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Your duties will include:

• Setting and operating flatbed laser cutting machines.
• Loading and unloading sheet metal.
• Sorting finished components ready for dispatch.
• Carrying out quality inspections on completed parts.
• Reading and working from engineering drawings.
• Completing routine machine checks and basic maintenance.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working area.
• Working to production targets while following all health and safety procedures.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience setting laser cutting machinery.
• Experience operating flatbed laser machines.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• A manufacturing, engineering or sheet metal background.
• Good attention to detail and a quality-focused approach.
• A reliable attitude and strong work ethic.
• A valid, in-date Counterbalance Forklift licence would be advantageous, although this is not essential.
