Job summary

Airbus Operations Limited in Broughton, North Wales, invites undergraduates for a 12.5-month internship starting 16 August 2027. The role focuses on laboratory work across mechanical testing, chemical analysis, and metallurgical activities supporting multiple departments.

The placement requires studying Chemistry, Materials Engineering, or Chemical Engineering, with strong research, presentation, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate for the entire placement duration
• Strong theoretical knowledge in chemistry or materials engineering
• Good communication, data interpretation and reporting skills
• Wamiliarity with laboratory safety and COSHH if applicable

Responsibilities

• Interface with operational teams and integrate with support functions
• Gather data through investigations and literature reviews
• Design and/or carry out experiments
• Analyse and interpret results of technical work and testing
• Perform statistical analysis of data and maintain records
• Generate protocols, reports and SOPs
• Maintain data integrity and lab documentation
• Identify improvements to daily laboratory operations
