Job summary

Supply Star Recruitment Limited is seeking a passionate Nursery Room Leader to steer a dedicated early years team in a peaceful rural setting near Macclesfield. You will inspire curiosity, independence, and confidence in young children.

Experience in leadership within an early years context and a strong love for teaching children are essential. The role is in-person, with a 40-hour week and opportunities for CPD and growth.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full and relevant Level 3 (or above) Early Years qualification.
• Proven experience in an early years setting with leadership or senior responsibilities.
• Sound understanding of the EYFS framework, safeguarding legislation and child development.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor staff in your room to deliver high-quality early years education.
• Ensure safeguarding and child protection policies are followed at all times.
• Oversee EYFS curriculum planning and embed the key person approach.
• Build strong, trust-based relationships with parents and carers.

Key Information:

• Location: in -person
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the Team: Guide, mentor, and support staff within your room to deliver high-quality early years education.
• Safeguarding: Ensure all safeguarding and child protection policies are strictly followed.
• Learning & Development: Oversee the planning of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and ensure the key person approach is well embedded.
• Parent Partnerships: Build strong, trust-based relationships with parents and carers.
• Daily Operations: Maintain a safe, warm, and stimulating environment for all children.

What We Are Looking For:

• Qualification: Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification.
• Experience: Proven experience working within an early years setting, ideally with previous leadership or senior responsibilities.
• Knowledge: Sound understanding of the EYFS framework, child development, and safeguarding legislation.
• Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and team-building skills.

Essential Criteria:

• Paediatric first aid certificate (if qualified post 30/06/26)
• GCSE English Grade 4+ (if qualified post September 2014)
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
