Job summary

Pelton Primary School in the Connect Multi-Academy Trust is seeking two caring Teaching Assistants to join our inclusive team. You will support children with SEND to access learning, build confidence and independence, working closely with teachers and the SENDCO.

The role requires Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning, GCSEs, and prior school experience. We offer a supportive environment, opportunities for professional development, and a probationary period. Start date: October 2026.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Experience working with children in a school setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
• Excellent communication skills and a patient, nurturing approach.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASC, SEMH and communication needs.
• Deliver targeted interventions and personalised support.
• Help create a nurturing, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Promote pupils' independence, wellbeing and progress.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
