Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant - Moreton, Wirral

Location: Moreton, Wirral
Start Date: September 2026

A welcoming primary school in the Moreton area is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join its friendly and supportive team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant who enjoys helping children overcome barriers to learning and is passionate about providing the individual support that enables pupils to feel confident, included and successful at school.

The successful candidate will work primarily within KS2, supporting pupils through a combination of classroom-based learning, small-group activities and targeted one-to-one support.

The Role

Working alongside experienced teachers and the wider support team, you will:

  • Provide learning and pastoral support to pupils across KS2
  • Work with small groups within a dedicated nurture environment
  • Provide targeted 1:1 support to help an individual pupil access learning and school life
  • Support children with SEND and additional learning needs
  • Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive relationships
  • Reinforce classroom learning through practical and engaging activities
  • Encourage positive behaviour and high expectations
  • Contribute to an inclusive, caring and supportive school environment
  • Work closely with teachers to ensure pupils receive appropriate support
The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in a Teaching Assistant role within a primary school
  • Confident supporting pupils as a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant
  • Experienced in, or knowledgeable about, supporting children with SEND
  • Patient, nurturing and able to build strong relationships with pupils
  • Positive and enthusiastic, with a genuine desire to make a difference
  • Able to work effectively with teachers and other support staff
  • Flexible and willing to take initiative
  • Committed to safeguarding, inclusion and pupil wellbeing
  • Supportive of the school's values and wider community

Experience within a nurture provision, specialist setting or working with pupils with additional needs would be particularly beneficial.
