Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Blackburn is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a Mainstream Primary School on a temp-to-perm basis. You will work closely with the school's SENCO to support pupils in KS2, helping them access learning and grow confidence.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role.
• Experience supporting children with SEND is advantageous.
• Understanding of KS2 curriculum and classroom practice.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• DBS enhanced check on Update Service or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support across KS2.
• Work with the SENCO to support pupils with SEND needs.
• Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions.
• Support learning activities and classroom engagement.
• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
