Job summary

Sussex Teachers are recruiting an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 pupil at a welcoming primary school in Hanover, Brighton. The role is part-time, 8:45am to 1:30pm, Monday to Friday, short-term supply covering late October 2026.

You will work with the class teacher and SENCO to help the pupil access learning, regulate emotions and build confidence. The school is rated Good by Ofsted and the agency provides weekly PAYE pay, a Brighton-based consultant, and flexible

Qualifications

• At least three months’ recent experience working with children in a school or education setting.
• Experience supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities.
• Satisfactory professional references.

Responsibilities

• Support a KS2 pupil with SEND to access classroom learning.
• Adapt activities to make learning accessible and engaging.
• Provide movement or brain breaks as needed and supervise lunchtime.
• Monitor the pupil’s progress in consultation with the teacher and SENCO.
