Job summary

Brighton & Hove City Council's St Nicolas CE Primary School in Portslade is seeking an experienced Individual Needs Assistant to support pupils with SEN, including ASC/ADHD or attachment needs, in line with EHCPs.

You will assist learning in class, in small groups or 1:1, with lunchtime support, and contribute to an inclusive ethos; term-time, 26 hours per week.

Successful candidate will relate well to children, work with BHISS support, and meet the described requirements.

Qualifications

• Ability to relate well to young children with confidence and a calm manner.
• Ability to establish and develop effective 1:1 relationships with children.
• Experience in supporting reading, writing or maths progress.
• Ability to work independently to deliver learning programmes with school and BHISS guidance.
• Ability to engage pupils in activities led by teachers.
• Ability to support social, emotional, and mental health needs using BHISS strategies.

Responsibilities
