Job summary

Teach South Sussex is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to support primary pupils across local schools in Eastbourne, Hailsham and surrounding areas. The role offers full-time and part-time options with day-to-day bookings or longer-term placements throughout the academic year.

The successful candidate will work alongside class teachers to foster an inclusive, engaging classroom, providing 1:1 support or small group interventions to help children progress.

Qualifications

• Have previous experience working with children or within a school setting.
• Are enthusiastic, patient and committed to supporting young people.
• Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Can adapt confidently to different school environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support and small group interventions.
• Support pupils within the classroom alongside class teachers.
• Contribute to progress by enabling pupils with additional needs to engage and learn.
• Help create an inclusive, engaging learning environment across sessions.
