Job summary

Vision for Education are partnering with a friendly primary school in Lancaster, Lancashire to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant for the 2026/27 year. The role involves 1:1 support for a Year 4 child with ASC, helping with academic tasks and social development within a nurturing classroom environment.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to tailor support strategies and provide consistent encouragement for the pupil throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND, including ASC/SEMH.
• Patience, nurturing and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil with ASC.
• Assist the pupil to access learning activities and build confidence.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement tailored strategies.
• Offer academic and emotional support throughout the day.
