Job summary

Step Teachers Ltd is seeking a Year 1 Teacher for a part-time, long-term role starting November 2026 at a primary school for pupils aged 4–11. The ideal candidate will have QTS, KS1 experience, a strong understanding of Year 1 curriculum, excellent classroom management, and a commitment to safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 1
• Strong understanding of Year 1 curriculum and child development
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Ability to create engaging and inclusive learning opportunities
• Strong communication and organisational abilities
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum
• Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development
• Create a positive and stimulating classroom environment
• Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress
• Support children as they transition from EYFS into Key Stage 1
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement
