Job summary

Burrowmoor Primary Academy seeks dedicated Teaching Assistants to join our experienced team for an initial term. You will support children in KS1 with EHCPs, focusing on communication challenges, speech and language development, and social-emotional regulation.

Roles involve working with SENDCo and the class teacher, and may include small-group work. Desirable skills include Attention Autism, Makaton, phonics, and trauma-informed practice to aid focused learning.

Qualifications

• School-based experience with children with SEND is essential.
• Support KS1 pupils with EHCPs to improve communication and social-emotional skills.
• Work with SENDCo, TA team and class teacher, including small-group work.
• Desirable knowledge: Attention Autism, trauma-informed practice, Makaton, phonics.

Responsibilities

• Support children in KS1 with EHCPs to develop communication and speech and language.
• Assist SENDCo, TA team and class teacher in delivering lessons.
• Occasionally work in small group settings.
• Maintain a calm, patient, and proactive attitude.
