Job summary

Harold Wood Primary School is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with SEND on a 1:1 basis and in group activities. The role involves assisting with speech, language, social and learning needs, and creating simple resources to support learning.

You will work under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO, liaising with external contacts to support development, and you should be calm, patient and a strong communicator who enjoys teamwork in a caring school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND and complex needs.
• Proven ability to work 1:1 with a pupil and in small group settings.
• Excellent communication with pupils, staff and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Support a child with SEND on a 1:1 basis and in groups.
• Create simple resources to aid pupil learning as appropriate.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual plans.
