Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant for a KS1 role at a Barnet primary school. The position involves 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with additional needs, including Autism and ADHD.

You will help with learning, communication, behaviour and emotional regulation, working closely with the team to create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment. The role is full-time and long-term, starting ASAP or in September 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND, including Autism and ADHD.
• Comfortable working 1:1 and in small groups.
• Calm, patient, nurturing approach.
• Passionate about helping children develop and succeed.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for KS1 pupils.
• Help pupils with learning, communication, behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Support inclusion and smooth classroom routines.
• Collaborate with the school team to plan and implement strategies.
