Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting a kind, bubbly and nurturing Teaching Assistant to join a supportive resource base within a mainstream primary school in Moseley. This role supports KS1 children, including non-verbal pupils who communicate via alternative methods, to develop communication, learning and social skills while safeguarding their emotional wellbeing.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO, building trusting relationships and bringing positivity and energy to sessions.

Qualifications

• Experience in a primary setting with SEND (including KS1).
• Familiar with non-verbal communication methods and alternative communication approaches.
• Calm, patient, and nurturing approach to support childrens' development.

Responsibilities

• Support KS1 children with communication, learning, social development and emotional wellbeing.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver inclusive activities.
• Use alternative communication methods with non-verbal pupils as needed.
• Help children gain independence, confidence and access to the wider school environment.
