Job summary

Long Term Futures is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Primary SEN Hub in Sutton Coldfield from September 2026. The role offers long-term/permanent employment in a welcoming school.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with additional needs, work with the SENCO and teachers, and help pupils access the curriculum with personalised strategies. An enhanced DBS and two references are required.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with SEN in primary or specialist settings.
  • Experience delivering 1:1 and small-group support.
  • Understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning approaches.
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Patient, resilient and nurturing approach.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.
  • Enhanced DBS and two references required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support within the school's SEN Hub.
  • Support pupils with a range of SEN and additional learning needs.
  • Deliver targeted interventions linked to EHCP outcomes and individual learning plans.
  • Help pupils access the curriculum through adapted activities and personalised support.
  • Support communication, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals.
  • Promote independence, confidence, and engagement with learning.
  • Help maintain a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
