Job summary

Long Term Futures is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a primary school's SEND Hub in the Birmingham area from September 2026. The role is full-time and based in a SEND Hub supporting eight pupils transitioning from Reception to Year 1, with a focus on sensory and semi-formal curricula.

You will work closely with teachers, SENCO and therapists to deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions, supporting communication, emotional regulation and independence to help pupils access

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN in primary or specialist settings.
• Experience with ASD and sensory-based learning is desirable.
• Ability to deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions.
• Patient, nurturing and resilient approach.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in the SEND Hub through 1:1 and small-group interventions.
• Support sensory and semi-formal learning pathways.
• Develop communication, emotional regulation, and independence skills.
• Assist with transitions into Year 1 mainstream classrooms.
• Deliver activities linked to EHCP outcomes and personalised learning plans.
• Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, therapists and staff.
• Promote a calm, structured learning environment and monitor progress.
• Contribute to ongoing assessment and support planning.
