Job summary

Somerset Larder is seeking a hands-on Kitchen Assistant to support Chefs in food preparation and cooking, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and stock control. The role requires strict adherence to Food Safety standards and efficient, team-based work.

You will assist with stock checks, help with HACCP activities, and take part in ongoing training. The role is on-site, with a broad benefits menu and opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Desirable Level 2 Food Safety Qualification
• Desirable Level 2 H&S Qualification
• Desirable First Aid Certification

Responsibilities

• Assist Chefs with preparation and cooking as required.
• Clean all equipment, crockery and cutlery.
• Take deliveries and perform stock checks.
• Support cleaning, periodic and deep cleaning tasks.
• Ensure food handling follows Food Safety & Quality Management System.
• Participate in HACCP team activities if required.
• Adhere to health and safety legislation and practices.
• Receive deliveries and verify supplier invoices.
