Job summary

Somerset Larder at HPC site in Hinkley Point C is hiring a full-time kitchen assistant to support chefs with preparing and cooking food, receive stock deliveries, and help keep the kitchen clean and compliant with HACCP standards.

The ideal candidate will hold Level 2 Food Safety (Desirable), be a team player with flexible hours, and be committed to zero harm and sustainable practices. Generous benefits and meal on shift are included.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Safety Qualification is desirable.
• Experience in catering/hospitality is beneficial.
• Ability to work as part of a team and be flexible with hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist Chefs in preparation and cooking of food as required.
• Clean equipment, crockery and cutlery.
• Take delivery of stock and check items against invoices.
• Support cleaning and deep cleaning activities as required.
• Ensure food handling complies with Food Safety standards.
• Participate in HACCP and safety initiatives.
• Receive deliveries and assist with stock management.
