Job summary

Soho House & Co. is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support the kitchen by cleaning and maintaining cookware, utensils, and glassware while upholding hygiene and safety standards.

You will wash items, operate dishwashing equipment, and keep back-of-house areas tidy, disposing of waste and assisting during peak times. Prior cleaning experience preferred with flexibility for shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning, housekeeping, or janitorial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Flexibility to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitise all kitchen items including pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and glassware in line with daily operational needs.
• Operate commercial dishwashing and cleaning equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workspaces and storage areas.
• Dispose of kitchen waste appropriately, ensuring bins are emptied and areas are kept clean and tidy throughout the shift.
• Adhere to all Food Safety and Health & Safety policies and practices in line with UK regulations (including HACCP).
• Follow detailed cleaning schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Support the kitchen team by replenishing stock, reporting low supplies, and assisting where required during peak service times.
• Handle kitchen equipment and items carefully to minimise breakages and maintain inventory integrity.
• Replenish supplies such as toiletries, towels, and cleaning materials where required.
• Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment.
