Job summary

Soho House in the United Kingdom is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support hygiene and safety in the kitchen and back-of-house areas. Your role includes cleaning kitchenware, disposing of waste, and maintaining orderly spaces according to SOPs.

You will operate dishwashing equipment, ensure compliance with HACCP and safety policies, and help the team by replenishing stock during peak times, while maintaining attention to detail and reliability.

Qualifications

• A successful Kitchen Porter will ideally have up to 2 years' experience in a busy high-profile venue.
• Previous cleaning, housekeeping, or janitorial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Reliability, discretion, and a professional attitude.
• Flexibility to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Ability to handle feedback to achieve member satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitise all kitchen items including pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and glassware in line with daily operational needs.
• Operate commercial dishwashing and cleaning equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workspaces and storage areas.
• Dispose of kitchen waste appropriately, ensuring bins are emptied and areas are kept clean and tidy throughout the shift.
• Adhere to all Food Safety and Health & Safety policies and practices in line with UK regulations (including HACCP).
• Follow detailed cleaning schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Support the kitchen team by replenishing stock, reporting low supplies, and assisting where required during peak service times.
