Qualifications

• No formal education is required, but a high school diploma or equivalent may be preferred.
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing – Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers.
• Kitchen cleanliness – Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas; manage waste.
• Food preparation – Assist chefs with basic food prep tasks such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients.
• Inventory management – Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients.
• Compliance with health and safety – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and ensure equipment is in good working order.
