Job summary

DoubleTree by Hilton Belfast City at Ten Square is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support the busy hotel kitchen. You will wash, dry and store crockery, cutlery and glassware to the highest standards.

You will assist with cleaning pots and pans, maintain a clean wash-up area, follow health and safety rules, wear suitable protective clothing, and help keep the kitchen tidy to support the culinary team and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Wash, dry and store crockery, cutlery and glassware.
• Clean pots, pans and equipment and store them properly.
• Carry out cleaning duties as outlined in standard procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of refuse area and empty bins regularly.
• Follow health and safety regulations and wear protective clothing.
• Adhere to management or chef requests and participate in training.
• Wear clean uniform and maintain high personal hygiene.
• Observe equal opportunities policy and maintain a neutral working environment.
• Keep staff areas tidy and report hazards or damages.

About The Role

• To ensure all items of crockery, cutlery & glassware are washed properly, dried and stored correctly.
• Cleaning of pots, pans & equipment, and their storage
• To carry out cleaning duties as outlined in standard procedures.
• To maintain cleanliness of refuse area and ensure kitchen bins regularly emptied.
• To be aware of hazardous substances and to ensure that relative protective clothing is worn, and directions followed.
• To adhere to any reasonable request from management or chefs
• To participate in any training and personnel exercises designed to improve standards and performance.
• Wear clean suitable uniform at all times and ensure a high level of personal hygiene & grooming.
• Observe all requirements under Health & Safety regulations.
• To upkeep the company’s equal opportunities policy to ensure a neutral working environment.
• To keep staff/work areas tidy, safe & report any hazard, accident or loss or damage to management and observe all requirements under current health & safety regulations.
