Job summary

The DoubleTree by Hilton Bristol City Centre is seeking a Kitchen Porter to uphold cleanliness in all kitchen areas, assist with basic food preparation, and support the Head Chef in daily duties.

You will work as part of a busy Kitchen Team, following safety and hygiene rules, help with stock checks and deliveries, and attend Health & Safety training as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Ability to work independently with a can-do attitude.
• Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in all kitchen areas daily.
• Assist in food preparation when required.
• Display efficient working practices and ensure all kitchen utensils, cookware, crockery are cleaned in a timely manner.
• Support the Kitchen Team with tasks and maintain a positive attitude.
• Ensure high standards of Health & Safety, cleanliness and food hygiene and follow safe working practices.
• Assist in par stock ordering for cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Be aware of COSHH regulations and use of PPE.
• Assist with stock taking and storage of stock, including checking deliveries.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job.
• Attend Health & Safety, Fire Safety and Food Safety training as directed by your Line Manager.

Role Responsibilities

You’ll maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in all kitchen areas by following established procedures each day set by the Head Chef. You’ll assist in the food preparation when required. You’ll display efficient working practices and ensure all the kitchen, utensils, cookware, crockery are properly cleaned in a timely manner.

• You’ll have a positive mentality and can-do attitude supporting the rest of the Kitchen Team with any tasks as required.
• To work the sections, ensuring that pot-wash standards are dealt with efficiently and to the best of your ability insuring the up most cleanliness at all times.
• To assist in ensuring a high level of Health & Safety, cleanliness and food hygiene and to ensure that safe working practices are followed.
• To assist in the par stock ordering for cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Be aware of COSHH regulations and use of PPE.
