Job summary

We are seeking a kitchen assistant to join our team. You will handle food preparation, maintain cleanliness, receive deliveries, and help serve customers. This role requires basic catering knowledge and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Commercial kitchen experience is valued but not essential.
• Basic Catering/Hospitality certificate such as Food Handling or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
• Must have basic knife skills, food preparation, and time management skills.
• Able to work under pressure and maintain good organisational skills.
• Able to stand for extended periods due to the physical nature of the job.

Responsibilities

• Help with food preparation tasks (peeling, chopping, trimming, sandwiches and salads).
• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area and equipment (utensils, tableware, catering stations).
• Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries and organise storage areas.
• Serve food items to customers according to the chef's menu.
• Top up the vending services daily.
