Job summary

SALT. restaurant on the shore of St Brelade is seeking a kitchen assistant to join the team. You will support chefs with basic food preparation, keep the kitchen clean and well organised, wash dishes and ensure hygiene standards are followed. You may help with deliveries and storage, and accommodation is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Assist chefs with basic food preparation as part of a kitchen team.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas and surfaces to high standards.
• Follow hygiene and food safety guidelines at all times.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs with basic food preparation (washing, peeling, chopping ingredients)
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including work surfaces and equipment
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools promptly and efficiently
• Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are followed at all times
• Help with receiving and storing deliveries correctly
• Dispose of waste and keep bins clean and organised, inside and outside
• Keep all external areas of the building clean ie terraces, public entrances and take pride in your duties.
