Job summary

Parkdean Resorts UK Limited is seeking a Kitchen Assistant at Southerness Holiday Park. You’ll wash, prep and assist with ingredients, support chefs, maintain cleanliness and safety, and help deliver high-quality meals for guests in a busy park kitchen.

Ideal candidates have a positive, energetic approach, good communication, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Training in Food Hygiene Level 2 is supported if needed to join the team.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced kitchen environments is essential.
• Good manual dexterity and basic food prep skills.
• Positive, energetic attitude and customer-focused service.
• Strong communication and team skills; ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Willingness to complete Food Hygiene Level 2 training with Parkdean support.

Responsibilities

• Wash, peel and prepare ingredients for service.
• Receive deliveries and check stock quality and expiry dates.
• Rotate stock to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
• Keep kitchen clean and hygienic, including appliances, ovens, work surfaces and dishes.
• Support basic food preparation tasks as directed by senior chefs.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Report any suspected weaknesses or breaches in the company’s information systems.
• Uphold safeguarding, health & safety and hygiene responsibilities.
