Job summary

Parkdean Resorts is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team across busy shifts. You will wash, prep and portion ingredients, help maintain a spotless kitchen and assist chefs during service to deliver quality meals for guests.

You'll work closely with Head and Sous Chefs, ensuring safety, hygiene and efficiency in a fast-moving environment. Training in Food Hygiene Level 2 is available if needed, and shifts include evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen.
• Good manual dexterity and basic food preparation skills.
• Positive, energetic approach and commitment to great service.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 or willingness to complete training with Parkdean Resorts.

Responsibilities

• Wash, peel and prepare ingredients for service.
• Receive deliveries, check stock quality and expiry dates, and store items correctly.
• Rotate stock to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
• Keep the kitchen clean and hygienic (appliances, ovens, surfaces, dishes).
• Support basic food preparation tasks as directed by senior chefs.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues to ensure smooth service.
• Report any weaknesses or breaches in information systems.
• Uphold safeguarding, health & safety and hygiene responsibilities for guests and colleagues.
