Job summary

Hamberley Care Homes is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support Templeton Place’s kitchen operations in Southampton. You will assist chefs, help prepare and serve meals, and ensure nutritional and dietary needs are met for residents in a luxury care home environment.

The role emphasizes food hygiene, stock control, and teamwork within a supportive, value-driven setting that prioritizes resident welfare and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar catering role, ideally in a care or similar environment.
• Committed to customer care and first-class service provision
• Knowledge of Health and Safety COSHH regulations
• Empathy and desire to make a difference to residents' lives
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and use initiative in a fast-paced environment
• Share our values and demonstrate them as a Can-Do flexible team member

Responsibilities

• Support Chefs in planning and providing high-quality meals meeting nutritional and dietary requirements for residents
• Plan, prepare, and serve balanced meals meeting dietary requirements
• Ensure all food meets Food Hygiene Standards and safe methods of work are used
• Manage stocks and stores with proper labeling and stock rotation
• Maintain records to satisfy food hygiene requirements such as fridge temperature checks

What you’ll be doing

• - Supporting the Chefs in the planning and provision of high-quality meals that meet the nutritional and dietary requirements of our residents

• - To ensure all food prepared meets Food Hygiene Standards and ensure that safe methods of work are always used
• - Manage all stocks and stores ensuring all food is correctly marked and stock rotation systems are in place
• - To maintain accurate records to satisfy food hygiene requirement such as fridge temperature checks

• - Proven experience working in a similar catering role, ideally in a care or similar environment.
