Job summary

Maki & Ramen in Nottingham is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support the launch of this exciting site. You will help with food prep, maintain cleanliness, manage stock and assist across shifts to ensure smooth service.

This full-time role offers a competitive hourly rate, tips, and a friendly, team-focused environment. Previous kitchen experience is preferred, with opportunities to grow as the brand expands.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year chef experience
• Minimum 1 year restaurant experience
• Food safety certification (if applicable)
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Willingness to work across shifts including weekends

Responsibilities

• Support chefs with food prep (chopping, washing, etc.)
• Keep kitchen areas clean and organized
• Assist with stock rotation and ingredient storage
• Wash dishes and sanitize equipment
• Dispose of waste properly and follow hygiene standards
• Restock supplies as needed during service

Pay Rate: £12.71 - £13.00 (typical earnings up to £14-£15 with tips)

Hours: 45-50 per week (hours are negotiable)

Key responsibilities:

• Support chefs with food prep (chopping, washing, etc.)

Skills & Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of kitchen hygiene and safety
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Good physical stamina and time management
• Quick learner with attention to detail
• Previous kitchen experience (a plus, not required)
• Food safety certification (if applicable)
