Job summary

Cygnet Wast Hills is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support meal preparation, service and kitchen hygiene. You will work 40 hours per week on a 7-day rota (4 x 10-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm) and help maintain a welcoming, hygienic environment for residents with learning disabilities and complex needs.

The role focuses on balanced meals, stock checks, equipment handling and delivering high standards of cleanliness. DBS check is required for successful candidates.

• Passion for catering and care setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and serving balanced meals and basic food prep.

• Sort, store and distribute ingredients; assist with stock ordering.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene and cleanliness; COSHH-compliant handling of chemicals.

Cygnet Group are looking for a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Cygnet Wast Hills.

Working 40 hours per week on a 7-day rota (4 x 10-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm), youll help prepare and serve meals, maintain high hygiene standards and contribute to a welcoming environment for the people we support.

Cygnet Wast Hills provides dedicated, person-centred support to men with learning disabilities, autism and associated complex needs in a robust environment.

The service has a number of independent and communal living spaces for the individuals we support, to maximise opportunities to progress through their care pathway towards greater independence.

Your Day-to-Day…

• Assist the team in providing balanced, appetising meals Perform basic food preparation, cooking tasks & other kitchen duties Wash utensils, dishes & make sure they are stored appropriately


• Sort, store & distribute ingredients, check deliveries and assist with stock ordering


• Maintain personal hygiene and ensure the kitchen is clean & hygienic


• Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures


• Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
